How Does Northern Links operate?

The Website works only as good as you make it. We operate strictly based on user submissions and questioned posted on the listserv.

To submit, receive, join and read information is all free and unlimited!

Searching Information

How do I find….

News and Funding Information?

Click the ‘What’s New’ tab. Inside you will find a few options. Click ‘News’ to read any news happening in the Sport/Recreational and Physical Activity community.

Events?

Click the ‘What’s New’ tab. Inside you will find a few options. Click the ‘Events’ option. The page is set to its default setting of a list of events which is placed in no particular order. However, user has the option to switch to Calendar Mode. In Calendar Mode, user can click the date he/she wishes to view. The list of events on that particular date will post on the right hand side of the calendar

Resources?

Click the ‘Resource” tab. Inside you will find a few options. You can type in keywords in the ‘Keyword Search’ box. Ensure you clarify what kind of resource type you are searching (ie: journals, resources, other website or all resources).

Additionally, you can search deeper into the database using the Topic Search Option. You can choose a Population or a Topic or Both. To see more specific Topics, click on the +. Click on the Population and/or the Topic then click on search.

How do I search a Success Story?

You can search by keywords or organization, or both. Enter as many as you wish.

How can I submit some resources?

There are a few options on sharing your resource, event or news.

Option 1: Email the information to info@northernlinks.org

Option 2: Visit our site, under each tab you will see “submit here”, click this page. A new page will appear. On this page, complete all the required information.

Option 3: You can fax information into the office at 416 426 7421. However, to be environmentally friendly we do not encourage this option.

Is my submitted information reviewed prior to posting?

YES! There is a lot of spam that comes through the forms to Northern Links. Therefore, each document, link, event and funding source is reviewed by Northern Links staff. We ensure that all submitted information is related to the mission of Northern Links. Once the information has been reviewed it will be inputted in the database, which will then be posted to the website in minutes.

Listserv

Whether you’re looking for specific advice or information, the Northern Links listserv is the best way for you to stay up to date and connected with your colleagues. Regular email messages keep you informed of progress in the Sport and Recreation field, including conferences, new research, funding opportunities, and more!

Most importantly the NL is your speaker-box to promote your community!

How can I ask the Listserv a Question?

There are a few options on ways you can submit a question to the listserv.

Option 1: Click the ‘Listserv tab. Inside you will find a few options. View the ‘Ask Us option. If you click the ‘Send a Message’ option, a form will appear on a new page. It is required the form is fully completed. Once the form is completed, your question will be sent to the Northern Links staff, question will be reviewed and submitted to the listserv.

Option 2: As a listserv member, you may submit any question to partners@northernlinks.org

How can I receive Feedback and Response to my question?

In order to receive feedback from other users, you must register to become a ‘listserv member.’ View the listserv tab. At the bottom of the page you will see the option to input your name and email address.
